Ways to Pray – Jesus calls us to agree in prayer:
“Again I say to you, that if two of you agree on eath about anything that they may ask, it shall be done for them by My Father who is in heaven. For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I Am there in their midst.” (Matthew 18:19-20)
Jesus wants us to pray in agreement with God’s Word along with other believers for a specific outcome.
Prayer is woven in the fabric of every ministry in the Kingdom and is one method God chooses to work through us to bring His Kingdom here on earth.
It can be done alone or in public. Prayer does not require any special skills or abilities other than a desire to see God’s will be done here on earth.
There are as many prayer formats as there are people: A.C.T.S. is one of the most common. The acronym forms the foundation for the prayer structure.
- A. Stands for adoration. We offer praise to God for who He is, for what He has done and will do.
- C. Following adoration is confession. We acknowledge our sins and ask for God’s forgiveness.
- T. Thanksgiving. We thank God for goodness and for answering our prayers.
- S. Finally supplication, where we bring our needs and the needs of others before God.
